Jane Austen

I just did a Jane Austen personality assessment quiz thingy because I am so incredibly street and that is how I roll.

The characters I most resemble are as follows:
1. Elizabeth Bennet - Pride & Prejudice
Sweeeet. Oh Darcy!
2. Catherine - Northanger Abbey
Haven't read. whoops.
3. Anne Elliot - Persusion
Meh, she is a bit of a bore, but I can relate to her love life somewhat
4. Elinor Dashwood - Sense & Sensibility
Mmm, ok, but perhaps I'm not that sensible
5. Jane Fairfax - Emma
If I can't be Emma, then at least I get to be someone she's slightly jealous of. I'm certainly destined for near poverty.
6. MR FUCKING COLLINS - Pride & Predjudice
get.
fucked.
7. Marianne Dashwood - Sense & Sensibility
sorry still getting over the collins thing
8. Captain Wentworth - Persuasion
Clearly, I am a fox
9. Louisa Musgrove - Persuasion
yawn
10. Lydia!!! Bloody!! Bennet!!!!! - Pride & Prejudice
screw this, I'm not playing anymore

Update #fujaehrgukjaerhgiakrjgilrkhjalrkghj gosh this is getting old

Hey Kids!

Sorry I've been really slack on the ye olde blog upkeep. Life has been keeping me pretty busy lately what with a 5 week block of counselling prac, uni assignment joy, and inner-city-living high jinks (yes! high jinks!).

Anyway for those of you who still care, there is a HT update. Yes it is still considered newsworthy in my little world, but only because I have been too preoccupied in, like, having a full and meaningful existence to engage in any other amorous adventures.

The context:

I was walking down the street with some counselling buddies on friday night and I happened to see HT out of the corner of my eye. He was walking with a lady, and I couldn't discern what was going on because I quickly became VERY FUCKING ENGROSSED in my conversation with my pal. Obviously, he can date a veritable harem of women and it's still none of my business. I only avoided saying 'hi' because it would be awkward on both our behalves (behalfs?).

I got the following email the next morning:
"The Flood"
Hi Lady,

I'm sorry i've been a terrible correspondent lately, but as you would have guessed, and as I mentioned to you, I've been a bit of a mess lately.
I just wanted to write to you and let you know that I'm not avoiding you for any reason other than my not wanting to confuse you and mess you around. I really like you Lady. I thoroughly enjoy my time with you, and I would have loved to have seen more of you over the past weeks had I been a little clearer about where I'm at emotionally. If I had moved on from my past (which I thought I had) I would definitely want to get to know you better. But, unfortunately, I'm not as clear sighted as I thought I was.
Anyway, I know you understand this, and I know you don't need to hear a spiel, but I'm sincere.
I hope all is well with you Lady, and I hope I'll get to see you again sometime soon after the flood.
HT x

And my reply:
Dear HT,

Please don't feel you have to explain yourself to me. Your email is very kind and I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness, but you owe me nothing in the grand scheme of things. I had such a good time with you each time we saw each other and even though I secretly think you're awesome, if that is all that ever happens then that's fine. There is no bad taste left in my mouth. I have been blessed with a virtually indestructible sense of self, so even if I hadn't quickly cottoned on to the situation, I would have just shrugged it off as your own lack of taste and judgement :). Seriously, did I tell you how I had hypnotherapy for self esteem and co-dependency issues a few years back? I think it might have been a little too successful.
I really hope that you sort it all out soon. Indecision is a real bitch and coupled with a bruised heart, well, let's just say I don't envy you. Happily, it is a long time since I have experience such emotional fuckery, but I do remember that it sucked. No one deserves to feel like that.
If, when you inevitably come through the other side of this, you'd still like to see me then that's fine. Hey, I may be otherwise engaged or have lost interest, or I may not. I don't have a crystal ball (yet) so I don't really know. But either way I'm still glad I met you.
Take care,
Lady

Bloody hell. I mean its very nice and all... but why do I need to know this? When did dating/fucking someone become SUCH a drama?!?!?!?! I think I did OK in the tone of my reply, although I might have been softer than I otherwise would be in such a situation, as the guy clearly needs a bit of a break.

It's just annoying that people feel the need to interject into my life even though they have no ability and/or desire to even just ...HAVE A NICE FUCKING TIME. Seriously, though, you gotta feel sorry for the dude. My recommendation would be trying antidepressants and a holiday.

...or do you guys think this is just a way for him to excuse being spotted with another girl, and that my sympathy is being played??? FFS, he can fuck whomever he wishes to. The immenseness of the fuck I do not give is... like 0 Kelvin. Pretty much near off the scale. BAH!

PS if anyone wants to make jokes about "bad taste in my mouth" I'll.....I'll.... probably have no comeback and get all stroppy.

A midnight concern

It's a bit worrying when you can't quite tell if that is your flatmate rooting his girlfriend or whether the dryer is on again.

PS have you missed me? I'm a busy little crumpet.

[edited to add] Thank Christ  - I think that it's the dryer. I was about to leap down the stairs with ventolin.
